7th December Easy Ride to Stithians

Thirteen riders turned out on the Piazza at 10am for the two club runs .Some of us took advantage of the new 108 coffee shop, now open on the quayside, before we set off.
Five riders set out with John Butler on the Intermediate to Gwithian and eight of us headed for Stithians led by Jude.
We made good use of the cycle paths out of Truro and all the way to Threemilestone. We sheltered from a quick shower then back on the road and down to Chacewater where we turned left and followed the valley stream up to Twelveheads. From Twelveheads we headed for Bissoe, Cusgarne and then Frogpool. Jonathan left us here and returned to Truro .Onwards through Pulla Cross and over the main A393 at Burncoose where we turned left and up then down to Stithians. We followed the lake around to our lunch stop at the Golden Lion.
After a good lunch of baguettes or Parsnip and Apple Soup, Pete left us for Mount Hawke and we continued on round the lake back to to Stithians and then on to Ponsanooth, Perranwell, Grenna Lane and Quenchwell where Paul and Roz left us for Carnon Downs and their car. We continued on through Playing Place ,Calenick then along the cycle path into Truro.
The riders ;- leader Jude Lawrence, John Flowers, Jonathan Angilley, Paul and Roz Delderfield, Pete Hargreaves and Ian and Bridget on their tandem. 30miles at an average speed of 9.2mph.
