Round the Beacon to Bolingey
The Truro Half marathon runners had left long before we gathered so we went all the
way up lemon Street and Falmouth Road to turn right at Arch Hill and descend
Penweathers lane towards Kea and then The Sustrans route to Bissoe Bike Chain.
Along the valley to Twelveheads and Chacewater we continued to Blackwater.
Paying our respects to Smokey Joe as we passed we turned right past Hilldene to
Skinners Bottom and on to Mount Hawke. The road rises gently to Gover Farm and then
its flat(ish) all the way to St Agnes via Mingoose and the Beacon Road.
Up Water lane (in record time for me due to being unable to change gear in time) it was
through Barkla Shop and Turning right to Blowinghouse. Left past the ecohomes into
Perranporth and Bolingey for doorstep sized lunches. The easy riders were already
scoffing theirs and we were joined by a few Non-riders, Chris, Jane and Pete.
Home was back the same way as far as Barkla Shop, then second left towards
Chiverton Cross but taking the dog-leg across towards Chacewater Cricket ground,
where the group separated to find their individual ways home . Thom and I took the Kea
Downs, Sawmills, Greenbottom path back to Truro in continued fine weather.
