One year on from my last ride to the same destination !
Dry , but very cold ! 6 hardy souls set off from the Piazza to once again begin the ascent from near sea level to the highest point in the County. Up Harris Hill for a warm up ! over to Penweathers, Helston Water, Bissoe and Cusgarne. Through Trehaddle, up the hill right and then left, down to Gwennap. Up again and across the road at Burncoose right and left, up Badger Hill and left fork to Trethellan Water. Not getting any warmer, but thankfully staying dry and not actually snowing ! A steady climb up to Four Lanes nwith Niq pointing out that we should be able to view both coasts from the top. Over the road by the Victoria Pub and on down to The Countryman at Piece (about 13.5 miles) for a very welcome seat in the warm and refreshments for the inner man. Leaving the Pub we turned left towards Lanner and Carharrack where we parted company to make our respective ways home. Participants: Hugh Bryson (leader) Paul & Roz Delderfield, John Gilbert, Peter Hargreaves and Niq Carter-Rowe.
