A group of 8 riders left the Piazza on a fine morning for what transpired to be a long and challenging ride to Stithians. Participants were Hugh (leader), Peter Hargreaves, John Gilbert, Niq Carter Rowe, Penny, Ian, and two guests, Steve and son William (13). Peter and John parted company at Perranwell for a shorter ride to Stithians and an early lunch, The remaining 6 carried on to Mylor Bridge , along by the water and on to Penryn where we unfortunately took a wrong turning and had to retrace our steps for quite a way before finally finding the correct path to the top of Treluswell. We then carried on to the A39 and across to Stithians for our usual lunch stop at the Golden Lion. Steve and William were met by Steve’s wife in the car for a lift back as William had to attend a party in the afternoon and the ride had taken longer than expected. William rode very well !My apologies to all for losing the way. I will need to make the ride shorter to come into the leisure ride category! Peter and John had been and gone, the rest of us made our way back after lunch, Penny and Niq to Truro, Hugh to St Agnes and Ian to Truro before heading home to St Mawgan. Please once again accept my apologies for not being better prepared , but trust you found some merit and enjoyed the change of scenery in the route. HB |
