A somewhat uninspiring weather forecast meant a dearth of riders for the Intermediate ride to St Mawes and a lack of the usual suspects for the leisure ride. The weather proved better than expected and five riders , Niq C-R, Penny Holt, Chris Fearnley, Dave Bennett and Hugh Bryson (leader) left the Piazza to head on up Kenywn Hill and on to Idless. Penny was feeling unwell and unfortunately had to leave us at Idless, we wish her a speedy recovery. Hugh had trouble with his rear gear, but cobbled a temporary fix and the remaining four carried on through Idless to St Allen and across the A30 to Zelah. Along Henver Lane, Scotland Rd and a right turn before the main road took us down and across to Rejerrah along the lanes. Carrying on through the lanes we stopped for coffee at The Smugglers Inn, Cubert.
From Cubert we took the short route back to St Newlyn East, over to Goonhavern and Reen Cross to Bolingey. Chris took leave of us at Bolingey to make his way back to Truro. Niq, Dave and Hugh carried on through Perranporth and up Perrancoombe to Mithian. Down towards St Agnes where Dave parted company for Truro, Niq carried on for a short distance then made his way to Mt Hawke before going on to Carnon Downs to chop wood!
All in all , a very good mornings cycling, ride distances will vary, but I covered about 25 miles from Truro and home. My thanks to you all 🙂
