Dry with rain threatening, four riders left the Piazza about 10.15 for a ride to the Countryman at
Piece. Rod Tinson, Mike Eastwood, Niq Carter-Rowe and Hugh Bryson (ride leader)
Rod led us out to the new cycleway at Coosebean, from there on to Threemilestone on the
cyclepath and our usual route through Greenbottom and Dangerous Crossing to Quay Downs
Road. Left towards Mt Hawke, left again to Smokey Joes and across the A30 to United Downs.
From there, instead of taking the intended route from Carharrack to Carnkie, Niq led us on to
Burncoose and Badger Hill to avoid arriving too early. Up Badger Hill and on to Four Lanes, across
the main road and down to arrive at Piece (still in the dry!) for about 12.20, just over 20 miles
and a welcome break for lunch.
Still dry, but rain threatening, we made our way back towards Lanner , on to Carharrack where
we split to make our own respective ways home. Mike, Rod & Niq to Truro via Bissoe,
Penweathers where Mike carried on to Grampound Road and Hugh to Scorrier and home to St
Agnes. About 30 miles from Truro and back. Got rained on going home, but very enjoyable ride,
thanks chaps!
