John rolled into the Piazza, panting slightly and claiming he’d beaten Jude on her new electric bike. Jude, as she cruised majestically into view, a vision of unflustered dignity on a machine so defiantly red it will undoubtedly launch a new range of cosmetics, seemed to imply that he’d started half-an-hour ahead of her. I […]

Once again a good mix of clubs represented among the 33 riders of varied experience who turned out on another dry evening.  The fine weather also meant at least 10 tractors were spotted along the route. Results are here results 100517.

What a nice sunny day, compared with the terrible weather we all experienced the day before. I was hoping the blue skies would attract a few cyclists and was relieved to see seven cyclists gathering on Lemon Quay (Chris F, Dom, Martin, Shaun, Gareth, Malcolm and James, a new recruit).   This took the form of an expedition to verify the myth that it’s always raining at Four Lanes. If the famous yomp across the Falklands by the Marines in 1982 had been done on bicycles, it would have felt like our so-called leisure ride. Already cloudy and damp as we left Truro by the […]

Ride Report – janerickard@googlemail.com – Gmail One year on from my last ride to the same destination ! Dry , but very cold ! 6 hardy souls set off from the Piazza to once again begin the ascent from near sea level to the highest point in the County. Up Harris Hill for a warm […]
